Okay, so remember this post? About me texturing?
Well…….
May I have a drum roll, please???
*DRUM ROLL*
It’s done!!!! Accomplished. Achieved. Closed. Completed. Concluded. Finished. A wrap.
Done.
Wanna see pictures? I hope so…cause if you keep scrolling down, you’re going to see them. Cause I WANT you to see them!!!
Before
I got impatient and pulled a piece of the paper off before I took pics. Me??? Impatient??? NO……
Most of the wallpaper is gone….but all those nail holes and joints!!!
Sometimes, it isn’t fun to see what’s underneath…
On this wall, there were four names in pencil: Ingaborg, Gerd, Jack, Two-pump
Evidence of the work done over 30 years ago by my grandmother and her sister and their two husbands. That was fun to find…and will never be seen again.
Just one coat of primer and it looked better already!
Felt like I was icing a strawberry cake when I opened the new bucket of mud and saw this!
After the mud, another coat of primer and then finally….the paint.
And then the new curtain and all the hardware was finally hung…and it’s done!
Ready to see the ‘after’ shots?
Are you sure?
I love the rug that Grandma and I found at TJ MAXX. So perfect!
I tried not to freak out when I found these old drawers out in Grandpa’s shop…they came from his mother’s sewing machine. After calmly saying, “These shouldn’t be out here.” he told me that if I could find something to put his junk in, I could have them. They are beautiful!
Probably one of the most rewarding projects I’ve ever done. Really.
And aside from having to break some of the fixtures off of the walls because they were hung so well all those years ago, it went surprisingly smoothly. I had a lot of fun with it….and now I’m looking around here thinking…”Hmmm…what next?”
Don’t tell Grandpa I said that! 😉
Beautiful job! I’m so proud of you!
I’ve never seen mud that color before…that’s crazy!!!
LOVE the rug…you did a fantastic job!
That mud dries to be the normal color of mud. That’s how you know it’s dry. Pretty cool, really. How DO they do that?!?!?!
Wow! Sage…great job and I love the rug…and the window decor and the antique boxes on the shelves! 🙂
Thanks Mom! You should come visit and see it in real life! I bought a bird today…just like your blue one, only green. It is sitting up in the hydrangea flowers on the shelf and looks perfect up there. 🙂
It looks amazing, Sage! Great job!
Thanks, Chad! I love before and after shots!
Sage you did awesome! It looks great! At least in the pictures it does 😉
The pictures tell the truth, Will. It’s not just in the pictures!
I think the secret is that it looked SO bad before….the after HAD to look good! 😉
Wow, really lovely transformation! Was it hard getting the wallpaper off the wall?
Most of it came off really, really easily. In fact…one of the reasons this really needed to be done – besides the obvious 😉 – was cause the paper was peeling off in so many places. Some of it really stuck hard, but once I got over my fear of using some water, it came right off. Normally water doesn’t scare me…but these walls are particle board…and water and particle board do weird things together. 🙂
I love it. Absolutely love it. Can I move into your bathroom???? 😉
Haha!!! Awww!!! Umm…no. 🙂
Well you’re no fun. 😛 LOL!
Looks great! Good job 🙂
Thanks Jer!
I love what you did with the old drawers and the shelf! Everything looks amazing! Great job, Sage!
Thanks, Sarah! I think I need to find something to put in that top drawer. You should see the little bird I found to put on the middle shelf. SO cute!
Can’t wait to see it in person. Looks great!
COME VISIT, Suze!!! It would be so fun!!!
I can imagine how good it must feel to have that accomplished. It looks so beautiful!
Thanks, Joanna! I had such a good time with most of it!
Great Job, looks really good! 🙂
Thanks, Alicia!
Smashingly wonderful!!!
Two Alicia’s? How’d you get so lucky???
I know! And you two even spell it the same way! Good thing I can see email addresses on comments, or I would be confuse!
Wow!! Looks amazing! I love the old drawers and all the little touches.
I love the picture of you too 🙂
Thanks, Anna.
First, I have to admit that I liked the yellow flowered wall paper….I know, I need help.
Secondly, since I haven’t read any blogs in ages and I am reading these in reverse, I must say that you are so very creative! I know how you feel about not being able, or even wanting to scrapbook, sew, etc; but, you are so very clever at the projects you choose to do! I don’t think I would walk out to the garage, grab a couple of drawers, and make such a beautiful display! I miss reading your blogs. It is…almost… Like having you near. As Anne would say, you are such a kindred spirit! I love you!!! Paula
Paula…you sure know how to make me feel undeservedly amazing! I love you too, you kindred spirit, you!!!! ❤ Thanks for the comment. I need to email you soon!
