Blogging Question

Okay, so…I love getting comments, of course. LOVE it!!! And I’ve gotten some wonderful comments.

My question is, how do you respond to comments on a blog? Do I respond as a comment? If I do, with the person I am responding to ever see it? I comment on blogs and never go back.

What is blogger etiquette in regards to this?

And I thank you for your advise in advance…since I don’t know how else to do it! 😉

  1. The mysteries of the blogging world- I am still trying to figure them out 🙂 Most of the time, if I am expecting a reply to a blog comment I have left on ones blog, I will click the "subscribe by email" button located bellow(next to the "post comment" button)! That way any future answers to the blogs post will be emailed to me 🙂

  2. Ah okay. Depends on the settings of your blog. Some will allow users to be notified of a reply or further response. If it's a blog where I know the blogger will reply to my comment I naturally check back to see, without a notification. If the blogger is not a reply type, I usually never go back. With a personal blog such as this, I think you'd want to reply to comments. How you respond is usually dependent on your personality. On some blogs the blogger is neutral in character so they may thank the person for their comment and find some element they can identify with or agree with to create a positive affirmation, or pause to acknowledge an interesting or enlightening perception. Some choose to be controversial and debate within their comment structure. It depends on how you want to respond and the tone and flavor of your blog. 😉

  3. If I comment on someone's blog, and hope/expect them to comment back, I will go back and check. If there is a subscribe option, I may do that. Some blogs (maybe WordPress?) allow the blogger to reply to comments with e-mail. So, like, if this blog had that capability, and you wanted to reply to this comment, you could e-mail reply, and I'd get an e-mail with the contents of your reply. I have no idea if you can do that on blogger, though.
